Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is born in Romania and is a Romanian actor and TV host. She's most famous as the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. The only child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into showbiz early and landed up performing lead roles in various shows on television by the time she was sixteen. After the critically-acclaimed performance in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play several other acclaimed role like Adolf's secretary, Traudljunge, for the film Downfall. This film was nominated for an Oscar and garnered critical praise. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominated features featuring female stars. Over the years Alexandra was involved in numerous notable international and national projects. For instance, the British biographical documentary Control the Greek Drama The Dust of Time, as well as the French history miniseries Napoleon are just a few of the many. She also served on the jury of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and also at Cannes Film Festival.
